Nevermined Named a Gartner® Cool Vendor™ in Agentic AI for Banking

Nevermined has been named a2026 Gartner® Cool Vendor™ in Coolest Vendor Innovations in Agentic AI for Banking, Part 1 report.

According to Gartner, a vendor must be considered innovative, impactful or intriguing in either the product or IT servicessectors.

Here’s a closer look at what makes a vendor innovative, impactful, or intriguing:

  • Innovative: The vendor has developed technologies, products, services or business models that enable users to do things they couldn’t do before, in ways that are materially different from other options in the market, due to their unique     or novel approach.
  • Impactful: The vendor offers technologies, products, services or business models that have or will have transformative business and market impact.
  • Intriguing: The vendor has piqued Gartner’s interest/curiosity. The vendor helps organizations identify an upcoming trend.

The category context matters. With respect to the report, "the number of banks and investment firms deploying AI agents is set to double, with 41% of banks and 38% of investment service firms planning deployments in the next 12 months.”

The thesis we've been building against

The business model for AI agents is metered pricing, but metering doesn't matter unless the agent can pay and be paid on its own, because a human approving every payment or setting every price is not a business, it is a bottleneck. We've held that position since before agentic payments had a name, and everything we ship follows our thesis.

So what does autonomous payment actually take?

It takes a commerce logic layer between agents and money. A person delegates a card once and sets the budget, with total caps, per-transaction caps, and an expiry, the agent spends inside a mandate itcannot exceed, and every transaction is attributed to the specific agent thatmade it and revocable in one click. The human is out of the loop for every purchase and in control of every dollar, which sounds like a contradiction until you see it run.

That covers the agent that pays. The merchant side is the mirror image, and it's the half most people forget. A merchant connects the payment account they already have, prices their service for metered consumption, per call, per token, or per outcome, and sets the entitlement policy that governs who can buy, at what price, and for how long. When an agent shows up, we verify it is operating under a real mandate before any money moves, the payment settles headlessly to the merchant's own processor, and the merchant keeps a signed record proving the agent was entitled to every purchase it made. No checkout page to build, no invoice to chase, and no guessing whether the bot on the other end is a customer or an attack.

And it runs today, on both sides. @You.com prices access to its search API at $5, an agent pays autonomously on a delegated card, andYou.com gets verified demand, headless settlement, and a receipt for every sale, with no invoice, no checkout page, and no human-in-the-loop. The agent hits its limit mid-task, buys the capacity it needs inside its mandate, and keeps working.

The rails underneath, built by six people

We run one of the first Visa Intelligent Commerce deployments, live since April, we are a launch partner on Mastercard Agent Pay for Machines, we are live in production with PayPal's Braintree, and we settle over Stripe, stablecoins, x402 and MPP, with ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II and PCISAQ-D achieved in-house this year. We built all of it as a team of six, whic hwe take as its own argument for what agents change about how companies operate.

So what?

Every bank, merchant, and software company that sells digital services is about to meet a new customer class that never sleeps, never fills in a checkout form, and buys strictly on value delivered. Our mission since day one: give every AI agent the ability to pay and be paid.

Humans set the guardrails. Machines move the money.
